Default BEDLINER on the lower part of doors

i want to put bedliner on the bottom part of my doors and i wana know what the preperations were before putting it on ? any suggestions ?

I will keep my eye on this.....thinking about bedlining my roof. I assume you prepare the surface like anything else you paint.....sand, prime,paint?

Definitely wash it with soap and water, then sand it a little so it has something to adhere to, then wash again with just water then alcohol and then tape/mask off then do the bedliner. Roll on Rustoleum is what I used. Here's some pictures

When I did mine I taped it off and sanded it down. Then I sprayed the area with primer. I used self etching primer but I think regular primer would have worked just fine. Then once that dried I sorayed on the Bedliner. I just used the stuff in the auto section from walmart. Its held up nicely over the past year or so. You can see it in my build thread if you want pictures.

Like 98 said clean it off. I forgot to add thar part in. Especially after you sand.

YOu guys seen anyone do their roof? Looking for a write up on that (sure its no different) to see pics.....can't seem to find one in the search.

i did mine recently, i washed it and lightly sanded it with a block, then jus sprayed the bedliner right on came out great, i was also thinking about doing my roof and maybe even doing the hood, just an idea though.

Side note: Red Scotch Brite pads work very well for the sanding part, equivalent to 600 grit paper and conform real well to all the nooks and crannies
