Bedliner Bugshield
I had some rust spots on my ZJ where the bug shield would be, and I like my chrome jeep logo, so I thought I would try to bed-line a bug shield. I chose the spray on, and yes its about
Supplies: two arms, tape, cover, sandpaper, tape measure or straight edge, primer, bed liner, (I'm trying to get in the habit of wearing eye protection even with the little mods and a mask while sanding/painting)
I already had the primer, sandpaper and tape and paper to cover the jeep, so I spend around $10.
-3M 150 grit sandpaper (no pic)
-Painters tape
-Rust-oleum Automotive Primer
-Rust-oleum truck bed liner
-25x30 paper from office max (its like a huge post-it note, you hardly use any tape, plus I just peeled off the paper so I can re-use/re-cycle)

Next, just measured it equally on the edges, and a few times along the hood so I could get a straight line. Had an old blanket to lay down, used some tape and my gigantic post it notes (they come off so easy I can re-use the paper) and just sanded the area hard enough to remove the rust spots by hand. I made the mistake of first trying to use a 3" round head wire brush drill bit to sand it off quick, but the first 3 seconds went too deep, so I stopped that.. lol (just had to sand a little more, prime and coat a little more)

And finally and just sprayed the bed liner on the area, probably sprayed 10 coats. Peeled off the tape on the jeep logo with a small knife. I love the look, makes the 94 ZJ look pretty clean from the front. Put some foglights on couple weeks ago too. I was thinking off doing a "matching" stripe on the top of the hood, just above the windshield to cover up the faded paint.
