i just ripped the trim off, sanded it down, taped it off, used spray on primer and the spray on rustoleum truck bed coating. been there for 6 months, no chips or scratches. i even did the flares, corner caps, grille, and the plastic trim on the headlights

What else could I use instead of bed liner. I would rather have like a flat black look. Ot matte black I'm not sure what it's called.

You can use a mat black.. you just have to clean it up an prime it then paint it just wont give you as much protection when rubing against stuff or having some mud/rock fling at thr rockers an wells . So its all up to you on what look your going for.

I wish I could find a bed liner product that was smooth and not textured with all that "grippy" stuff in it. I like the bedliner look, but I'd like it so much better if it was smooth.

I used under coat on my rocker panels, what a mistake. It always feels tackey and scuffs off pretty easily.
