My chains are permanently attached to the recovery strap loops. Real handy.

A winch is indispensable. But beyond that, recovery points on your vehicle front and rear. If you don't get an electric winch, get a good come along (ratchet hoist) with at least 2 ton capacity. Two straps, one tow and the other recovery. Extra cable if you only have the come along. ****** block if you have the winch and a long tree strap. A good pair of gloves would be handy.

I have a 25ft tow strap that I keep in the jeep at all times. I dont care much for chains, Ive had a few bad run in with them. Also a hi-lift is a really good idea to take with you on the trail. depending on what time of year/what kind of terrain you have I keep a set of snow chains in the jeep to.

i would say plenty of strap, clevis's and tug points, i've seen way too many trucks get stuck and noone brings a strap with them or has the proper tog points on their trucks. i see no point in chains unless they dont have the proper points in the front or back to pull from.
