Bad tcase

My transfercase broke a chain today..i found one with 150,000 miles and a sye already installed out of a 92 rolled xj for $400 is this a decent deal ...other than being rolled the jeep was very clean

I agree, I would try and get it knocked down to the $300. Having a SYE already installed just doesn't seem like justification for extra cost to me. Seems like when I was looking around thinking I might need one I was around $200 to pull one myself.

exactly! if you need it now see if you can talk him down a bit 300, 350 better then 400. But if in a pickle not to bad have you tried craigslist at all?

$150 ??? What's wrong with it. That's too cheap IMHO. What you could always do is go to your local junkyard and just pull a t-case out of a cherokee. Check internals before buying. Cost you pretty cheap. SYE needed for 6.5+ lift. I run 5" on a slip yoke. No issues at full flex.
If anything the $400 looking the best if you don't wanna unbolt one from junkyard.

Should be a direct swap, the only thing you have to look for is the spline count. If it's an AX-15 its 23 spline count, if its the AX-5 its a 21 spline count. Match spline count your splines if same then it should go in no problem
