Default axle change

ok sorry if I am putting this in the wrong place but here I go. I have a set of one ton axles out of 93 f350. dana 60 front and sterling rear. my question is how wide should I cut these down to to put them in my xj. the wms to wms on the xj is 60.5 inches and the wms on the fords front is 68.5 inches or by pirate 69.5 would 65 inches be to much? I am planning on a rusty's 9" lift with hummer bead locks and 37" tires, all sitting in the shed. some helpfull sugjestion please

If you plan to run the H1s as is leave them alone because those things have 7" of backspacing. Do you plan on driving it on the street and if so do you have to have a certain amount of tire under flares. All these things and more need to be thought about. Mine are 67" wms to wms and I run an 8" rim with 4" of back spacing and like the added width. I also don't have fender flare laws where I live. The added width helps a lot with the height of the lift and tires, especially at 9". I can clear 38s with my 7" and some trimming.

when you cut a 60 down you always try to get the long side of the axle to a factory width. basicly you take the short side shaft out and put it on the long side and cut from there. there is a lot more to it but you only want to order 1 custom shaft if you can.
