I've got a 96' XJ that needs it's header panel replaced. Nailed Bambi the other night. I'm gonna have to to go to the junk yard and pick one off another XJ. How much work is involved with taking one off (as I assume the junk yard is going to make me do)? Any tips? I need to get the Chief lookin' sharp again.

Hit a deer a few years back in mine, glad I had a stinger cause all I got was a broke Hella. Deer had crushed ribs, cause I ran over him, and broke 3 tines off what was a rather nice 8 point rack. Bad thing was I had been hunting all morning and was going home for lunch after not seeing anything all morning.
Ahh, what a bummer. You're lucky its just your header panel though. When I hit a deer a month ago, I also needed a new fender, fender flare, all left lights (turn signals, headlight, fog light, etc), bumper and bumper cap. Haha.

Well, I'd love to say nothing else was damaged, but my fender has some contortion and definitely busted the lights on the drivers side. I'm not very concerned with those as you could teach a chimp to fix them. I'm just wondering about the header panel because I'd like to have my lights pointing in the same direction. I have a headlight in there now, just to not get pulled over.
