If the driveway conditions don't persuade them, I'm betting this weighs heavily on their minds.....

What's your favourite spread of mines?
Would spreading salt be detrimental to the fusing?
My Rottie loves Labs and Danes, We'd be XJ 4x4 up your drive just to meet em and get out for a good chase and run in that M field.
I do carry a couple strips of expanded sheet metal, often will get one some traction on ice without having to break out the bubba rope. So any traction device is good to have out back in your kit.

I love to wheel and love a challenge but if I had to pull cable everyday to get home after work or running errands I think it'd do me in...

I'd suggest to do some networking and find someone who knows dirt work and has access to mini equipment... a lot of dirt workers are shut down this time of year... just saying.

Yes, it does get old. After being up for 12+ hours and putting in a full shift the last thing I want to do is dig. I have a high lift and a good anchor point but that is going to be a PITA as well. When I get my Xmas bonus I think I'm going to pull the trigger and get a set of Treds. If it works they'll save me a lot of time.....

Come spring and when there is available monies, I'll have the fellow down the road bring in some #2 crusher run and tidy problem areas of the driveway. Till then I need to be prepared and pick good lines.....

I've heard of people using carpet remnants but never tried it myself. I think I'm going to grab some astro turf remnants from work and see how they work.....

Good luck.... I know it sounds expensive but think what it's doing to your rig and moral.... I'd at least have the road somewhat redone...

And of course, it snowed quite a bit, about a foot. And true to form, I got stuck while trying to ascend it. I cleared the wheels of snow and slid in a strip of artificial turf under the drive wheels. Worked like a charm till the tires rolled past them so I leep frogged them and in no time I was sitting in the shop sipping a cup of coffee.....

Chains aren't really a convenient option. They would be effective but too much of a PITA to put on....

Land Rover guys run around with beat up ladders for this sort of situation. I'm sure most of the portable ATV ramps would work very well.

just moved in may from a very similar situation.... I had another hill to concur after the driveway which in extreme conditions left us stuck, but that only happened a handful of times in the 6yrs living there, course it doesn't snow much if at all here...

in the very far top right of this picture you can see the hill to get out of a hill, now this was steep and was very dangerous to get up, but was blacktop so a little easier...

I ended up asphalting it before we sold, wished I could afford it sooner as the snow would melt off faster..

and the ash from fire does work very well, especially mixed with kitty litter..

EDIT:: I think the ATV ramps sound like a killer idea, though I've never used them to get unstuck it seems this would be much better then what you posted...
