Default Anyone try this?

Ok, so I had a quick question... My manual transmission when it gets hot starts to act up. the transmission has 178,000 miles on it (yes older tranny, but not getting new one soon and need gears to reduce wear on ALL parts of my jeep) and when hot the reverse really doesn't like to go into reverse...

Well, what can cause transmission to fail? Excessive heat? Correct? (from just daily driving)

Well, The exhaust pipe routed off the mnifold runs like 1.5 inch under the transmission and runs directly across the tranny.

My question: Does that exhaust pipe add a lot of excessive heat to that transmission? Will heat wrap on the exhaust help the tranismission run better?

And exhaust wrap sprayed in that silicone preservative prevent mag chloride from getting in and rusting the exhaust pipe (colorado..they love mag chloride...)

I don't know if that will help the trans at all.

Pretty much all of us have the same exhaust route, not all.have your issue.
