Default anyone thats has a rc 4.5 lift please read

ok guys ive had a battle with death wobble but its mostly gone. all i have left is a lil shimmy between 45 and 50. i read somewhere that someone else had the same issue. ive replaced everything and its all tight. i think i saw someone a drop pitman arm would fix it. has anyone done this?

Did you change your upper CA bushings?

a drop pitman arm will help alot. it is pulling one side a little too high and that makes it shake just a little bit because you are on the fine line of needing it. i think i am going to need one on both of my 4.5's they are expensive though.

yeah it is the pitman arm then the tires might be perfect but the angle is just a little bit too much for the stock one. and it wants to travel toward what is pulling it which would be to the right.

I installed my RC 4.5" lift with a $45.00 (shipped) RUK IND. pitman arm and have 35x10.50 boggers and have not had my tires and wheels balanced and the jeep can be driven with one finger with ease and has no swaybars front or rear. Even before I put the pittman arm on it still drove exceptionaly well to have boggers on it. Fastest I've had it is about 60 though.

I have a rc 4.5 x series lift. i dont have any wobble, but i do have a slight pull to the right and a pull to the left when braking. the pull under braking is likely a caliper issue.

i did replace the pitman. with what i assume is a ZJ pitman as it didnt drop very far. https://store.nexternal.com/fbg/jeep...006-p7543.aspx

what track bar do you have? i have the RC7572 that came with my kit.
the other day i replaced the Tie rod end with an es3096 as mine was garbage. and the bushing with a k3176.

those are both oreillys part#

the whole truck feels different. so much tighter.

I suspect the slight pull to the right is due to the wheel base, the xj from what i have read is supposed to have a slightly shorter wheel base on the drivers side. 3/8" or so to counter the "crown" of the road, the slight downward angle toward the curb.

I have new bushings everywhere balanced wheels and a good alignment, I took it up to about 90 a couple times today smooth as glass.

Just installed a 4.5" RC Lift on my Jeep, I get a little wobble, mostly when I hit the insane potholes we have growing everywhere, but on the interstate or good road, she drives straight as an arrow and no wobble at any speed. Only issue I have is my bottom leaf keeps rotating as its not in a clamp with the rest. But will take care of that soon 2nd RC 4.5" lift I've run, and couldn't be happier with the product for a mix of trail/daily driver use.

I did, never had an issue, until I hit one of our massive pot holes doing 45-50 a couple days ago, now it pops when I turn, looked under and its the track bar bracket flexing. So it's coming off and putting an adjustable track bar, new bracket, and drop pitman on it. Talking to R&R Offroad when ordering and they say there are a ton of XJ and ZJ's coming in with the same problem right now. And now I have death wobble, but new set up should be here by the end of the week. For the cost, I wish I would have just upgraded it all when I did my lift. But no harm done, time to get back under there

Please check your ball joints, tie rod ends hub assemblies and track bar bushings......9x out of 10 are the contributing factor/factors to death wobble!!

I know my tie rod ends are pretty worn as well, and surely not helping me out, they are getting replaced at the same time as my track bar. I can see the track bar bracket flex and hear it pop when the wheels are turned back and forth, going to need an alignment anyway, so I am going to replace everything that's worn while I'm in there. For as little as tie rod ends cost, I would replace them if even slightly in doubt, knowing it's going to get an alignment anyway.
