Believe me, it'll seem impossible while you're doing it, and it'll actually get worse once you loosen both hinges then when you started, but once you get it you'll have it. I got pissed off and set mine random, and it was perfect. Bolted them down tight and its stayed like that since.

Got it! My pasenger lined up even better actually! My doors used to hang out towards the top, now they don't! There's a lot of play and sagging in my drivers side but it doesn't matter much I won't have the doors on alot

Hahaha no they would not make a difference at all if your unibody did bend then your doors would be able to close when they where on your doors do not help support anything! And back to the topic other then rain I think its a great idea....im going to try it this summer(:

I haven't had any issues at all. Dont even park mine in the garage. It's more fun riding around doorless imo.
Im considering getting or making some tube half doors for when I do want doors, and ditching the big heavy stock doors altogether even.

At the least I'd suggest a lockable center console like a Tuffy and a remote starter disabling switch... (A hidden switch somewhere.)

I leave mine off from about May-October. Only time they're on then is if it's going to rain.

Only problem I have it neighbors cats pissing on my passenger seat on occasion which royally sucks. CJ7/YJ soft doors fit 4 door front doors with very little modification, I've considered picking a set up to keep cats out, but I'll just shoot their damn cat if I catch it.

I've got gun stickers on my hatch window, a small security box to throw small stuff in, but otherwise I keep as little as possible in my Jeep. Only worry about the sub/amp if I'm downtown, but I'm going to rig cargo net across the back this year so no one can get back there easily without the hatch being unlocked. http://www.safaristraps.com/

Other than the cats I have no real issues. I do get pulled by some smartass cops on occasion who get pissy when they realize they're wrong, but it's not a big deal. I'd also suggest a hidden kill switch for your ignition.

You can make putting them on a lot easier. I drilled my holes out a little more so they don't have to be exact. I also cut the top pin about half as long as the bottom since gravity makes getting the bottom in first a lot easier and it ruins getting the top one in and that gets frustrating as hell since the front doors are so heavy. I also took glow in the dark paint pens and colored the pins and the top of the holes so they glow at night.

Its a unibody and as I recall I remember watching a whole xj build where it explains that the unibody does twist.. but experts could be wrong? I don't know all I know s my unibody does make noise when I'm in flexy positions. They may not bend to the point where it breaks or cause any damage no but I do believe they twist.

Good ideas! But I did finally get my doors aligned! For some odd reason everything works but my speaker on the drivers side? Oh well I was looking to putting speakers under the dash anyways!

They aren't laughing at reinforcing your unibody. It's a great idea a Especially if you wheel hard.

What they are laughing at is that your doors provide NO structural support at all.... Especially for driving around town. It's not going to effect your unibody. I drive all summer long with no doors and everything lines up perfectly.

Would putting washers on my bottum hinge cause it to push my door a little higher so it lined up better due to all the play? My dad said it might work what do you guys think?
