I'm willing to bet your SEC8 sounds alot like the Qtec, but is a bit faster due to the higher gearing.

All good.. the Qtec is priced better than the MM, and I'm sure they provide better service as well. I'm just trying to pick the best winch for the $. I had an Engo before and now, I'm convinced it's the same winch as the Harbor Freight and Bulldog.

Curious about the outcome also.

The XRC is also one I'm looking at. I am attracted to the line speed due to the gearing it has. Seems like it would be a fast little winch. According to their specs, the line speed at 8000# is 8 feet per minute. That is near twice as fast as a Warn.
