My XJ is glossy black, but I'm thinking about rhino-lining the flares, trim area, bumpers, etc...I don't quite know how it'll look though

Not necessarily, what do you have? I'm just seeing if it looks strange to have just those parts done with rhinoliner/bedliner/line-x on a already black XJ.

Is there a difference in Rhinoliner, bedliner, herculiner, etc other than brand names?
And that looks pretty sweet man! Think I might be going for it now. I have a 96, so i'm still unsure on if I want to do the bumper end caps, and bumpers. Rockers and Flares for sure though...

It is made out of rubber, it isn't gonna cut up your hands, but I guess if you rub it enough you could get a "burn" from it.....looks good though...I was gonna do my black xj this weekend..but I dont have a garage and its raining.... I was gonna use herculiner for my rocker panels..I was gonna remove the rubber moldings and bumper end caps and do all the way up to the body line.....maybe next weekend....

Sweet man! I'm in the same dilemma...I've put 35 hours of prep work into my XJ over the past 2 months and now am realizing I can't even paint it. I don't have an air conditioned garage to use, or even a garage. These NC summers are brutal. 105-110 degrees with 100% humidity. No way i'm gonna be able to lay down a clean coat of paint. :\

It's clean in those pics! sm99eagle is right, there's really no way you can cut yourself on it. Some of the texture comes from the sponge roller that I used, but most of it is because those are chunks of rubber.
