I have a curved mount centered on top of my dash and then I have the suction cup mount as well. Anytime I have it mounted outside I tether it to the Jeep just in case. I like to run it (the GoPro HD) in r5 (full HD) so I got a 32gb card and have never come anywhere close to filling it. I do need to get the battery pack though. The standard battery doesn't last very long.
As for editing I'm a MAC guy so it's Final Cut Pro for me. For XP I would use either Adobe or Movie Maker.

I run a hero 3 I've made one video just holding it out the window for a little trip but ive used it mostly for salwater fly fishing on my kayak and boat.
I use the free program from Go-pro called Cineform studio for the video effects like coloring and filters and such and then I edit it in AVS video editor. the Cineform studio works good though.
driving down a road by my house on my way to go fishing. I only recorded this in 720p
Video of some Fly fishing on the kayak. I recorded this in 1080 but it wont load on phones.

I love my gopro what one do you have? Ill take pics of how I mount them in the morning , I have a ton of vids but waiting to edit them all, best (free program) I've found is windows movie maker , can edit the length and ad and delete slides , speed up it slow mo, music, captions, effects anything pretty much it's awesome , I believe I run a 8gb card and I always have plenty room I just delete the vids off the card once I put them on the computer

I have an older GoPro and have used it for many things. Using the head strap we went snowshoeing and my Daughter used it for one of the Zombie runs. She dunk it in the water with no problems. I also have the suction cup mount and stick it to the inside of the windshield. Best time though was putting it on my Pits collar. Jim
