Default Another "Is it worth it" thread....

So this is the Jeep i was going to look at the lady was selling it for 2800, apparently some dealer bought it from her and now he's listing it for 4k. the truck is in mint, the lady never used the 4x4 feature so it makes me want to ask.... is it still worth the 4k asking price? I might try to get it for 3500 but it looks like a killer deal to me still. Let me know what you think.

its not a bad deal if the milage is right, remember you're only going to get 250,000 - 350,000 miles out of it. i have been looking for another XJ myself, cheaper XJs will come along but if its really clean i would go for it, offer 3,500 first though

I paid that for mine with 123k, and this one looks cleaner. Texas, so I assume no rust.

It's worth whatever you're willing to pay, I'd buy it just for the color. I had a narrow window of wife approval, so I bought the first decent one I saw : )

lol Exactly.

this one has 173,500 miles on it. the dealer didnt post the mileage but the original seller did. I really like the color and condition, only set back for me is there is no C/C and I'll be taking this thing on trips.

Reckon it depends on if it is close to exactly what you want. The '99 I just aquired was close, it also has no cruise(WTF do people think when they order a damn car, get almost everything possible BUT!), but like the OP posted, theres some good units on the market that can fitted fairly easy.
173,5....I'd most certainly haggle. I got old black in '07 with 177 on the clock for $2700. they too wanted 3995, but I used the mileage and the death wobble factor to negotiate to my liking, always helps to have a stack of Benji's in pocket when you're pitchin numbers. You know goin in what you'll most likely have to put in it as far as normal wear issues(front end, rad, etc.) so...
I paid $4k for the '99 with 107k on the clock. I expect if I take the same care of it as I do old black, no problem seeing 325k +. That equates to at least another 7 yrs without a car payment...........

Looks good apart from the visor on front (my opinion) haggle over price and see what you can get it down to.

This is how many miles are on it. it's not too bad, I just fear a blown head gasket might be on its way... possibly could have already happened and its been repaired by original owner.
