Im 18 and want a cherokee for my first vehicle. There is a red 89 in good condition (very little body rust, some unibody rust) down the road. It has a ~2" Rough country lift, bald tires, Renix I6 w/auto trans, Dana Rear end, NP231 (Command Trac) Transfer case and full size spare. Still has the front swaybar and the exhaust is cut off about a foot behind the muffler. There is a slight crinkle in the front right side, needs a new grille, but thats about it. The interior is spotless and it has Sony CD Stereo system, and I think the rear speakers are Sony also. It also has 204,964 miles on it and a oil change sticker in the window. Drive shaft U-joints seem to be good also. I had my dad look at it and he wants to take it for a test drive tomorrow, he seems to like it. The guy wants 1800 OBO for it, keep in mind this is michigan and SLIGHTLY rusty jeeps are hard to find. I think 1250 or 1300 would be more like it because of the cost for tires and a new front grille.. What do you guys think?

unless is has a dana 44 in the rear 1800 is crazy....
here is what im gonna say...I myself bought a already lifted xj. If I had to do it over again I would not. It looks good at first but then you realize how much more ware and tear it will have due to wheeling it. If u look hard u can get a really nice stock xj for 1800 lower miles and much less wear and for a very small amount get a lift after the fact.
