With rust its always worse then you think and you don't know tell you cut it open.Is it just that wheel well or is it both sides?Have you checked the floor pans and rocker panels for rust?

All 3 other wheel wells are perfect, one rocker needs a patch, and the floorboards just need a little patch here and there from what I can see so far (havent pulled the carpet yet)

Finding someone to do it on the side like if they had a garage at home. Cheapest way to have someone else do it from what Ive found. Some shops are reasonable but they cant beat someone that wants cash in hand for a little labor.

just buy a quality welder like miller, lincoln hobart 110v and some sheet metal and practice and do it yourself. you can probably enroll in a welding class at school or somewhere. thats not that hard of a job really, more intimidating than anything. another option is to hire someone off the forums or a body guy that will do it as a cash side job for a few hundred.

This is what I did today. Some 3m tape and some cheap bed liner/rubber spray. I just wanted to get it sealed until I decide to try/get it welded.

It's just metal, cut out the old, weld in new.

Carpet holds in moisture, snow/slush has salt in it, seeps into carpet and wrecks floors.
