Default annoyed with local JY

so I went to the local Junk yard to pick up a V8 94-98 zj steering assembly and they said that they have it but they legally cant sell it to me because it was a "driving hazard"...what the ****!! i seriously dont care about the tie rods themselves, i was going to buy newer ones anyways. i just wanted the linkage and they still said they cant... so if any of you out there can get me the upgrade from one of their local JYs let me know

Why not tell them you have a zj, and yours broke and you need a temporary replacement?

I feel your pain. I stopped by one on my lunch break the other day.
First I asked about a coolant pressure bottle off a 1989 XJ, Price he shot me was $35. They are $30 new. Then I asked about the NP231 out of the same jeep, price... $350.00!
I hit up the local pull a part Saturday and got a used aftermarket bottle and a dash trim piece for $10.
Asked about a NP231 from them they wanted $125 with a 1 year warranty.

Secondly, what two JYs are you referring to so I know which one to stay away from and which to visit. PM them to me if you want.

The closest one is not a u pull and they are ridiculous. They wanted 50 bucks for a used passenger side mirror. The next closest one is 40 mins from my ouse but that is where I get my parts. Luckily though it is close to my school so I just go after school. There are also 2 HUGE ones right next to eachother an hour from my house I want to check out.
