Am I getting gouged?
Hey guys, had a... frustrating thing happen to me on the weekend, the clutch went on my 98 Cherokee sport (np231, ax-15) while I was visiting home for thanksgiving.
So I had it towed to a shop, and I just now got a quote for repair.
6 hours labour approx
New clutch assembly (around 500)
Flywheel machining (around 150)
Total: $1400 (Canadian)
Before you guys lip me off for not doing the work myself, I go to school 400km away and I had to leave it behind to be fixed and picked up next week. Soooooo, what's the verdict? Try and find a cheaper quote? Or does that sound about right?

unfortunately its not too far off.
The tranny has to be dropped and installed. Then installing the clutch assembly and bleeding, etc.... Making certain everything is right.
Its 6 hrs. Sure a good mech can do it in less. But I am just saying that is not out of the ordinary.
As far as the parts pricing goes, you would just have to price serch.

Its a tiny bit high but really close to normal cost,I would call around see how cheap you can find the clutch because all shops up charge on parts a tiny bit.The labor is about spot on with the book time.
