Default Rebuild or will it be okay?

98 jeep xj stock

While replacing my rear main seal I noticed my main bearing has a little scoring on it. It's not deep or gouged bad but you can feel it with ur finger nail. I will get a picture up soon. I am not a engine guru. Is that normal or is it bad?

If it is bad I guess I will pull a junkyard motor and tranny. If I am gonna build a motor might as well build a tranny while I am at it. Although, if anyone knows what year xj 4.0 motors have the same castings that would be a huge help.

The bearing did its job by trapping the debris. You can replace the bearings without removing the crank.
