Hankook calls their MT a "Maximum" traction tire instead of Mud Tire. .. probably for Marketing purposes...but when I save up a little more I do plan on trying out their Dynapro MT's. I've heard great things about them and they would be nice to have as a 2nd set of tires for off road use.

Heard great things about Duratrac too.. probably the best compromise for an all around tire.
I run the Dynapro MT's and I love them. They are great offroad and seem to wear ok on road, after all it is a MT. My jeep is not my DD, which is why I run MT's on it. When it was my DD I ran BFG AT's which I loved and then a set of Duratrac's. Both were great tires but the Duratrac's were a little better offroad. For a DD I would recommend the Duratrac's all day long.

I almost went with Duratracs but their 31" tire was a little larger than I wanted to go. The Cooper 31" is only 30.3", better fit for my lift, cheaper, better gas mileage..so I went with it. I wouldn't hesitate to try the Duratracs though.. they look and sound great.

Try the Goodyear Wrangler Authority. I have them on my jeep and love them! I got them when I worked at walmart and was really impressed. About $140 a tire I think is what I paid. Our Goodyear rep said they were somewhat like a low end version of a duratrac. I've had mine in snow, mud, rocks, pretty much everything but sand and they are great.

Theyre just walmarts version of the Duratracs, all there tires vary from normal distributors. You could've gotten a qoute for the authoritys and discount would'v matched it with the Duratracs. I paid 707 mounted for mine

I'm more worried about the Jiffy lube guy at Wal Mart trying to mount and balance tires.

I've had Nexen Roadian M/T's on my xj for about 5 years now. They handle amazing in the snow, ice and every other terrain ive been on. I've got general grabbers on another and they are pretty damn good too.
