Default air intake and throttle body spacer

Do or don't these have a positive affect on a 4.0?

I just ordered an air intake for my XJ. It worked for my TJ. The throttle body spacer makes a little whistle when u step on the gas.

They both absolutely, positively, without a doubt have a positive effect on our beloved 4.0's(4.7 in my case)............if you don't mind paying $100-200 per horsepower. I have both, only because the PO spent his well earned money on them. I took both off for a day and drove around awhile. I couldn't tell a difference at all. Honestly, I think you'd gain more horsepower from deleting your front sway bar.

I agree totally, because adding a TBS adds weight, and weight slows you down. So if you took out your sway bar instead, it would most certainly have more advantage than adding a TBS. And much cheaper too!

if you want power just let your headlight fluid out to free up some weight dont waste your money on a spacer or intake. get a k&n drop in filter and forget about it

In addition to draining your headlight fluid I would also suggest stripping all the paint and removing the windows. All they do is blur your vision a bit.

There's free horsepower in your vehicle right now - dunno the hp gain formula based on weight reduction for a Cherokee, but if you strip that vehicle of everything but the essentials it oughta just fly!

Otherwise, spend hundreds of dollars on full flow exhaust, upgraded intake and injectors, bored throttle body, cold air intake, a hotter ignition, and all synthetic gear oils.

Same difference...

Yeah you have to remember though if you don't add racing stripes to your jeep, the TBS doesn't work.

on a vehicle that has fuel injectors after the throttle body and not in the throttle body, the spacer does nothing at all, you'd be better off just dropping screws and stuff down the throttle body, than wasting money on one of these crudely cast chunks of snake oil.

Could you imagine if you did both of these? That'd be some sic power.

Overflating the tires will help to.
