Hi Guys, I'm from the UK and have recently purchased a Jeep Cherokee KJ (liberty) 2.8 2007 model year and the A/C compressor does not work when the AC button is depressed (light comes on at the switch). The condenser works if power is given to it manually (as part of my diagnosis) and the low pressure switch has been bypassed and a new heater module fitted to test if the heater control panel with the AC button is faulty. We have gassed up and also checked the relay and fuse in the engine compartment also. I have no wiring diagram so not sure what else to check?

Anyone had similar and found a fix? Something I have not yet checked?

 

FYI, this forum is for the XJ Cherokees and also Grand Cherokees.

Your Jeep is called a Liberty over here and shares very little with our Cherokees. I would suggest finding a Liberty specific forum.

 

Sounds more like an A/C thing than anything peculiarly (any) Jeep.

KJ's are not well supported (although they do have some very enthusiastic owners) but jeepKJ.com is probably about the best, although lostjeeps seems to be the go to site for diesels.

 

first thing to check is if there is enough refrigerant in it. As to the forum, these other guys probably forgot the Liberty here is the Cherokee there
