Default aiming roof lights

Okay so I finally got my rola roof basket on my jeep. I fabed up four mounting plates on the front of the basket so I can mount four navigator burner series on top. Now my question is how should they be aimed? I heard higher up than your headlights. Is this true if so how much higher. I dont want to blind people on the road or on coming traffic. Right now I got them aimed about 3 ft higher than my headlights the two outers are aimed more to the sides and the inner more in the middle. Pics would be great and how far back ur parked away from a building. I know when you aim ur headlight you have to be either 10 or 20 ft from a wall. All info will help

First off, you shouldn't be running them on-road. So just go out during the night and aim them to give you maximum visibility. I have mine set to shine out ahead and around my headlight's and fog-light's beam.

His might've been aimed more down at the road. I know with my driving lights on the front bumper, if I have them on at night because of how they're aimed, other cars will flash me. Not to mention I can drive perfectly fine at night with just them on! Lol don't need the actual headlights....

You can go here http://www.liftlaws.com/ pick your state, scroll down to lights to see if there are any laws about lighting in your neck off the woods.

Checked that site out. Ohio has a limit of 5 lights on at a time. So I have 2 headlights to fogs and four roof lights total of 8 not including im about to add two in the back for back up lights and 2 more in my grille or on my bumper.

Got pulled over for my lights on my rack. Cop said they need to be covered while on road. What thats stupid. So he gave me a warning. Then he said my rear window tint is over the limit. I told him its factory deep tint. He warned me on that. But do roof lighrs need to be covered when not in use?

If your on the road they must be covered,Its so if you accidently turn them on they won't light up and blind people.Did your lights come with a full cover?

Cover the roof rack lights when not in use and don't use 'em on the road.

Check you state and city ordinance. I was pulled over up here in Alaska and was told the same thing and given a ticket, Before I went to court I looked into what the police officer said about my lights and come to find out that there is no light laws in Alaska I can drive down the street with them on as long as I turn them off for on coming traffic, and there was no law about covers, I won the case. So now I keep a print out of the ordinance and numbers in the clove box to show any one who has problems with them. So check your law for you state.

No it's not stupid, it's actually quite smart. Keeping a cover helps if a short happens or you accidentally hit the switch to turn them on. Don't be those idiots please.

Also the light bar that are on libertys, they have them focused at the same point as the driving lights, hence why they're called driving lights and not off road lights. You point them higher and you NEED TO KEEP THEM OFF unless there is absolutely no traffic coming towards you. Now if you have your roof light pointed to the same point as your driving light, them you can possibly run them with cross traffic.
