I'm looking for some tires for my '96 SE. Its not lifted, open diffs, 4.0L auto. Its primary purpose is a property maintenance vehicle, so will be in the woods in leaves, branches, kinda steep in places, but no big mud holes or water crossings.

Price difference between the 2 sizes is not an issue, and the larger size is because some tires aren't made in the smaller size.

I'm looking for maximum traction off road with the ability to occasionally travel 30 miles on secondary roads. I don't have a winch (yet) so will try to not be too stupid. In that it has open diffs I need to maximize its existing capability.

Candidates appear to be Firestone Destination MT, BFG MT, Goodyear Duratrack, Goodyear Wrangler MT, Maxxis Bighorn, Cooper STT.

I'm looking for suggestions that I've overlooked, but NEW radial and NOT retread.

I would go with the Cooper stt. They are amazing off road and you should get 50k out of them. Great all around tire.
