but your not seeing the point. they do have use. they arent pointless. if you want to go sideways at a ledge taller than your bumper then so be it. id do the same seeing how i dont have a stinger but it doesnt mean they are pointless. going strait at a ledge is much more stable than going sideways. and some people dont have the expierience to just throw thier rid at anything without rolling. and if you think going sideways at something is better for your so called "frame" then you didnt think that through at all. going sideways twists it.

I'm down with the stinger. I run one on mine that I love. Four wheeling is about freedom and expression, people who have negative opinions on what others do to their cars have problems. Live it up!

If you think smashing a stinger/bumper connected to a so-called frame head on is less stress then putting a tire on an object and turning into it to wind up head on anyway wile allowing your suspension to soak it up first is less stress then good for you. Just because you head at an object at an angle dose not mean you have to go up it at an angle. How much did you think that through..

Here is my "retarded" stinger. I don't really think it's "retarded," I like it. It is very helpful and has saved me a few times.

Sorry I said several times if it is just for looks that's cool. I really do not care. Even offered one person tubing for one. However I am finding this really funny. People get all sorts of mad about there little thing sticking out.

im not saying go 30mph at the rock. if you easy crawl up it nothing is going to be "smashed". and if cherokees had a frame i would see where your coming from. but they are unibodies and they twist. therefore if you go sideways towards anything you have a higher chance of twisting the body than if you go strait at it. and if you build the bumper right (since you have such amazing fab skillz) you wont bend anything just crawling up. but im dont arguing with someone hard headed. im done

Guess you missed what I said. Go at an angle tire first and turn into it so when you crawl up you are straight. Then your suspension dose the twisting. Oh well someone got offended and just when it was getting fun party's over

I don't agree with some of what has been said about pros of a stinger, but the one I find most important is that it can keep you from rolling over forward. If you take a situation where a stinger stopped a rollover and try it with a no stinger bumper, you're going to end up on the roof. That's the most appealing part for me. And for a driving light hoop

Ok it would help for that. But I still don't like them.. Man it took a long time to find a valid use for one.

What happened to your approach angle? That thing is like 12" from the bumper at the bottom.

If you haven't noticed most of them kill your approach angle not saying it couldn't be done better. Sorry Jbetit and phatkat. But for deer a good bumper would do the same thing.
