Default add ons

Im looking to put some sliders and fender flairs on my xj. i think ill go with the olympic double nerf bars for the sliders but on the Flairs IDK if i want to go bushwacker or Napier. i have already trimmed the front fender and im running 33x12.5s and they throw water and mud like nobodies business so i want to make sure i get enough coverage with what i end up with but i dont want a lot of excess over hang either. any suggestions?

Most Nerf bars aren't sliders and Napiers don't stick out as much as BW

I know but these are reversible by pulling some pins. Down to act as a step up to give move clearence and provide body protection. I know the Napiers are thinner. I am wondering if anyone is running them with 12.5s and how they work. Thanks

Napier Flat Flares work great on my 32x11.5's and AJ's super rock rails. Great Combo and AJ's sliders dont stick out that much. 4" lift and i am 5'9" and i can step right over them into the cab. Girlfriend is 5'5" and has no problems either

After the abs and delete and manifold gasket replacement I went through a series of mis-ships from Ironman 4x4 fab, I decided to order a custom tie rod from Stinky Fab and still had to cut it down, since I didn't give them the correct measurements.

I used Synergy tie rods with 1/2" taper for the custom tie rod.

After installing the new tie rod and taking her for a spin I realized I might be in need of some replacement parts at the knuckle. No death wobble but it definitely felt loose considering all the steering parts were new. I decided to just do a full sweep. Replaced inner seals, added outer seals, replaced the hubs, ball joints and U joints. tacked the new spicer U joints for extra protection.

After some inspection I realized my tail cone was cracked, and the rear shaft needed rebuilt. I decided this was a good time to add an SYE and new rear shaft. I then scored a 99 29 spline 8.25 for 100 bucks! I'd been looking to replace the dana 35 for some time. I decided whilst it's an open and out I'd give it some upgrades. I added a JCR truss and welded on some extended bump stop plates, and high clearance shock mounts. I had to literally CUT the old t-case off. Luckily I had a buddy with a parts Jeep and I got a free T-case. Installed SYE, new Oliver custom shaft, and and disc swapped 29 spline 8.25. Things were looking good!





Scored an HD diff cover for 60 bucks, with a spare axle included

The raised shock mounts on the axle forced me to find shorter shocks. I ordered some Bilsteins for 0-2" lift.

After some more test driving I realized there was STILL play in the steering. Further inspection yielded a leaky steering box. It was time to get it replaced. I took this opportunity to set up for HYDRO ASSIST, and boy! What a difference OFF-ROAD. Kinda hard to get used to on road, but still very manageable.

Decided the KM'2 had to go. I used some JK take offs for a while, but they were absolutely awful in wet weather. It was time to get back to an AT so I decided to pull the trigger on some Falken Wildpeake at3w's and oh man they have not disappointed!

One of the final upgrades I've done over the last two years was a new battery, Dirt Bound battery tray and one of the LAST sets of custom Mean Lemons battery cables ever produced.

Removed 270,000 mile oem trash

One of my fun little side projects was building these adjustable shackles out of some forged bushings I had laying around after I mangled my Daystar shackles at Rausch Creek.

Default Fall Trip to AOAA

Fall 2020. I was cooped up most of the year with everyone else. I was able to squeeze in a nice day trip to AOAA with camping and whiskey by the fire. It was an amazing weekend.

I'm completely confused how this thread went from the main point of fender flares and sliders, to steering, drive shafts, rear axles, shackles, etc........
