Hi am new here can any one tell me for transmission advice ware they the best advice

Best advice is easier when all the facts are presented, year, make, model, engine, etc.

 

I had lightning strike under my jeep and it seemed to only have second gear after that happened , so I changed out the transmission with a 98 sport , no luck on shifting .I have a new computer as of yesterday day no change in shifting but I did read on line about un plugging the harness and manually shifting it threw the gears that works . its a 1999 Cherokee xj 4.0 straight six four speed automatic two wheel drive , I have no clue as what to try next dose any one have any help full advice
