Transmission Shifting Problem. NEED HELP!!!
First off. Hello my name is Will and thank you for having my on the forum.
This is my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0L, 42RE transmission.
So the other day I was leaving a stop sign and the transmission decided to just NOT! It didn't want to shift and it threw a P1763 code. So I changed the Governor Pressure Solenoid and the Transducer, along with the obvious fluid, filter, and gasket change. I disconnected the battery to clear codes for about 30 minutes. I started it up and went for a test drive.
Test drive was terrible. It is shifting, however from going from reverse to drive, it didn't want to kick into gear. When it finally did, after high rpms and a little rest, it went into drive. Shifting, however, goes up to 2500-3000 rpms before shifting. This is terrible. I have research ever thing I can think of. Speed sensors, ECM, TPS, TV cable (can't find anywhere to purchase) so on and so on. I did try to adjust the TV Cable and it does nothing. I think it is loose, the reason I looked into purchasing new one). I am stuck, any clue.

Old fart with a wrench
Welcome to CF!
It's possible the TV cable is broken or disconnected inside the trans. Also, when you filled the trans, did you check the fluid level in NEUTRAL? It should say that on the stick. The torque converter is not pressurized in Park.
