Default 98 XJ before and after a years work

This is my DD, a 98 XJ I bought for $400, as you can see it was wrecked, but, it had a new crate motor in it, so it was worth rebuilding. I rebuilt the front end and repainted it, fixed all the stupid things wrong, added a 3.5" lift, light bar, front push bar from an M class, Hood scoop, painted the stock wheels and added rock rails. All told I have about $2k into it.

So what do you think?

That looks pretty good. Is the hood vent functional or just for looks.

Right now the scoop is just for getting the heat out of the engine compartment, but, working on changing over my cold air intake to be ram air, Looking for flat enough air box to mount under the scoop on top of the motor

How big are the holes you cut out of your hood for the vent.

I cut one slot the width of the scoop and about 4" deep, made a lip all the way around to keep out heavy water. What I want to do is mount my cold air intake underneath somehow. Maybe run it over the motor and mount it on the spark plug side under the slot opening

Why would you put a CAI if you were going to put in a ram air.

The CAI came first now want to switch it over to ram air. I travel 100mi a day on hwy for work and ram air would be better than CAI

It that a mustang GT scoop? I looks huge on there. I get what your saying but the shape the size and proportions are all off, just looks off on the jeep.

Nice work man, and i think the hood scoop looks good on it! Alot better then using house hold vents. I have a scoop off a Torino im probably gonna use on mine. Dont worry about what the others say, its not their ride, its not their money. Its yours and you do with it as to what makes you happy and you like.

Lookin good! i like the hood scoop idea, like you said it goes well with the squareness of the xj. Can you tell me what light bar that is and where you got it cause im lookin for a lightbar but not sure which one to get and it looks great on your jeep!
