The con is a Jeep Cherokee never came with a V8, only an in line 6 cylinder. The Grand Cherokee has a V8, in 1997 that is a ZJ and it has a 5.2L 318 and in 1998 they offered a ZJ with a 5.9L 360.
However a well maintained Cherokee with the inline 6 cylinder will nearly run forever. The 6 cylinder has good power for this size vehicle also.
