Default Lights

So I replaced my Jeep's drive indicator lights, and overhead console lights. I did not go with LED since there was some resistor thing I would have had to install. Anyway now its all Red when I open the door So all I have left to do is find some floor lights in RED that are not LED.

Looks great man! I've got a 97 sport. You should be able to do the 3" lift in your driveway. Just make sure and spray everything with pb blaster before hand. For like a week. You're brake lines should be alright for three inches. Unless you're getting mad flex when you disconnect your sway bars. But you could install 95 wrangler soft lines up front and 99 Dodge Dakota rear soft lines and you'll have plenty of extra space and they're pretty cheap too. Good luck!

Thanks. When I do get around to doing the lift I think the break lines should be good since it came with a stock 1 inch lift, and Im pretty sure it doesnt have a sway bar in the rear so I guess it wont sway any more than it does now. Hopefully....

Per: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Cherokee_(XJ)
The suspension used on vehicles with the optional UpCountry Package did not employ the rear anti-sway/anti-roll bar and provided one inch of lift over the standard suspension.

So I have been reading a little about transfer case drops and sye. With. 3 inch lift how much lift do you actually get someone told be 3.5 was actually like 4 inches of lift. Im confused since the 3 inch lift from rough country does not include any of that or make mention. So can someone please help me understand if I get a 3 inch lift like the one linked above do I need a sye or any other mods will not making modifications damage my cherokee? If mods are needed I may just do a 2 inch lift.

Also I have a factory 1 inch lift since its the country model so will a 3 inch lift really only lift me 2 inches over what I currently have.

Thanks to anyone who can clarify.

Well i have a 97 and put that exact lift on and needed a 1" tc drop. If you dont want to buy a drop kit, its easy to make one. But yeah, im happy with that lift and i think i got exatly 3" out of it.

Cool was yours also a country with the factory up country suspension 1 inch lift?

Did you have to put new break lines on?

No it dident have the up country. And ya it needs new ones. You MIGHT be able to get away with stock but I wouldent risk it. There's no reason not to get new longer steel braded lines anyways.

With my 4.5" I could drive around town with stock brake lines but barely. Especially the rear lines were super tight. You could unbolt the fronts and get plenty of room.

Oh and at 3" you may need a tcase drop or you may not. Each vehicle is different. Just do the lift and find out. If you want I've got one ill ship to you for 20 bucks. Its brand new. I got it from RC and decided to just save for an SYE.

Red82 is right about how each rig is different. Just try it and see. Thats what i did and had slight vibes so i just whipped up a tc drop out of 1x1 tubing from the hardware store. And look at a tc drop as a band-aid and look towards doing a sye eventually.

Subscribing to your build (Hopefully it gets moved to where it needs to). I want to see where you're going with this, It sounds an awful lot like what I want to do with mine:

I wish I knew how to move the post. I created it when I first signed up and Cherokee forum before I realised how to navigate the site. I know that sounds dumb since most forums are similar, but this is the first forum I have used.

Good luck on your build, and if you want to see what the 3 inch lift looks like on basically the same cherokee as ours check out drewjharper1900's his is a step ahead of mine with new wheels, tires, and the same 3 inch lift Im looking at.
