96 cherokee classic

hello. i have a quick question, can you put a 97 grand cherokee gas pump sending unit on a 96 cherokee classic? Im not to sure, cuz im not really a car guy. thanks all...

Doubtful. The sending unit on both is part of the pump, filter unit.
