91 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 NO SPARK?!?!
We have a Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 with no spark. We tried replacing the sensor on the bell housing and that didn't fix the problem. We opened the distributer cap and the rotor was completely vaporized, no contact at all. We replaced the cap and rotor and still no spark. We did some testing with a test light and found that the coil terminal going to the distributer had no power coming out of it. There was power coming in through the cable that feeds the coil but only one terminal had power coming from it. Does there need to be positive power in both terminals? So we replaced the coil with a brand new one and same problem, no power coming out of the Coil. Could there be a problem with the power supply cable that feeds the coil? We really need help. We have read up on other forums and looked at diagrams but none of them have helped. Would really appreciate some help. Email is: iluvallhorses@yahoo.com we are very confused, please help

We looked for the icm and there was none, did some checking and found that fuel injected does not have an icm. We lost our multimeter(burned up) for some reason, so any chance of using it is history. Does there need to be + power coming out of both wires that connect to the coil? Or could the new coil be bad? So all we have now is a test light, is there anyway we can test the coil with a test light further?
