Default '91 Cherokee starting issues...

Over the last week I've had an issue when starting my Jeep. Occasionally, it starts right up, no problems whatsoever. Most times though, I turn the key and nothing but a click. The gauges, radio, etc all come on but the starter doesn't spin. After a couple of attempts it cranks right up. Any ideas?

You may have more luck in the oem cherokee tech section, but most logical guess would be starter is going out,

It sounds like maybe your battery terminals are bad. same thing happened to
Me. I was still getting voltage but coouldnt draw the amperage needed for large applications like the starter. you can know for sure if you take a screwdriver or something and use the metal part to connect the positive battery to the wire itself that goes to the starter. if it starts right up, then it's the terminal.
