88 cherokee frontend roaring
I just put a 4.5in Roughcountry lift on my 88 Cherokee havnt had the front end alignment done yet, have a roar and vibration in the front end that wasn't there before. I've replaced the U joints in the front driveshaft and it cleared alot of it up, I've been told it could be the pinion angle. Has anyone run into this before?

Did you install control arms? If so are they adjustable? If there not adjustable and there installed correctly you pinion angle should be fine.
I would say get it aligned or do it yourself it could be you toed in to far and your tires are making noise. Then go from there.

Yeah I put the new control arms on that came in the kit the only adjustments I see are 2 bolts on the back of the control arm mounts

the problem is you dont get full brakes. they feel ok but bottom out and there is a pump motor assembly under the coolant resavoir, it is loud and not doing its job. the system has been recalled and a remanufactured pump motor is like 500 bucks. they dont make them anymore. or search for one at the junk yard or change the system from abs to non abs. which i was not expecting any of this. i am searching for some info on swaping system if i cant find affordable parts.check to see if u have this system if u do its just a matter of time. i got some info if u do. keep u posted

No mine doest have the ABS on it I think 89 or 90. Is when they started that. I wonder if u could just put the break booster and master cylinder off an 88 like mine and disconect all the wiring to the old system.

that is what i was thinking. but some one told me to use an xj 97 or newer i asked why the newer xj ? but no response yet. the brake system is no longer covered by the recall they have on the system but the pump ( the main problem) is covered for life so i called chrys. corp. and they said the pump assembly was covered for life to take it to the nearest dealer and see what they say. i did , and now waiting for a call.i threw them for a loop with all that crap. ( i did my homework).the pump could cost from 5-700 bucks. only paid 650 for jeep.i think they gotta fix it by law. bet they wish jeeps didnt get so many miles. sorry for the rant. if they weasle out of it then i swap it out p.s sorry i interupted your thread. didnt realize till it was too late. the new guy
