I have a 96, but love the look of the 97-01 tail lights. One of my lights has been cracked and "quick-fixed" ever since I bought it. I figure it's time to replace it, but i'd like to see if anyone has the newer curved tails on their 84-96 XJ. Idk if it'll look right, or even match up.

Will it work if you change the hatch too? I've been thinking about trying it. A buddy of mine has a 98 just sitting around for parts.

 

you'd have to change the last 1/2 foot of the cherokee, the hatch is different, the mounts are different, the actual rear body is different.

I think the 96 is best year anyway - keep it as it is!
