Where are you guys seeing these numbers? When I click on "Members" in the menu bar, it shows 95,000+ pages and the pages have like 30 names a page!

I've often wondered the very same thing its free and only takes a minute to fill out the member form and CP info.

Some people only need simple info that can be found without signing up. Some people don't like to post for whatever reason. Some people have been on other forums and lurk for a couple reasons, whether it be to gather info before asking a question that's been answered a hundred times, or to get a feel of the forum to see if it suits them.

Some will register when they're ready, others will drift somewhere else. No biggie.

It's just common sense. I've owned different websites through the years and the ratio "only visitors / member signing up" is about average for a public forum. Most people are coming from google searches and/or lurking as others said.

It sucks but at least 5-10 out of 100 will eventually sign up.

I'd rather people remain guests than sign up and post a question never to return. At least you can assume that guests are searching the forum for answers instead of just posting up every question they think of and not returning with a resolution.
