Default 5.7 ls1 engine swap

Hi I want to do the ls1 engine swap to my 99 jeep Cherokee xj I want to know what would I need I have the engine and transmission already would I need to change my differentals brake etc

There are a quite a few choices. The easiest would be to get a kit. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/xj_swap.htm That site would be the easiest route I would say. As for me, I went a different route. My starting point was to keep the stock driveshafts. That involved getting a s10 trans with t-case and merging the Jeep and Chevy t-cases together (Chevy front half case half, gears and chain with Jeep outputs and rear case half). Then set the rear trans mount in the stock location and followed up by fabbing motor mounts. It doesn't sound too bad, but now half of the firewall is gone... So the kit would be the best route if the fab work is too much hassle.
