Default 5.5"-7.5" lift?

Someone suggested that I use 2" coil spring spacers to bring my 5.5" rubicon express long arm lift up to a 7.5" lift.

Before y'all post, I'm just tryin to learn if 1. its even possible. 2. If its a smart idea and if it's not then why. 3. If it is possible, what else would be involved with this?

As I said before I'm trying to learn, not really to do it to my rig, but more for knowledge and conversation sake.

do it, it will work just fine.
you will need to do the toe in alignment tho.

i've got 8 inch longarm, and i might just throw my 2 inch spacer in too.

I recommend ACOS spacers so you can fine tune the front height.

Prob need longer shocks and a way of lifting the rear. RE uses longer shackles and 4.5" leaves with the 5.5" kit so shackles are out unless you want really long ones.

I might think about doin it then. I clear 33s just fine, but I'd love to throw some 35s under her.

You don't need more height, you need proper bump stops to keep from stuffing your tires too much.

XJs have tiny wheel wells to clear much more than a 33 without a huge lift you gotta trim a little. I'm running 38s with roughly 7.5".

Planning on trimming them soon. Just got the saw to do it so I'm pretty stoked about that!

Bump stops limit the amount of upward travel of an axle.

Best thing to use is a cut-off tool. A saw will grab the thin fenders and jerk your hands all over, not a very clean cut most of the time unless your very good and lucky.

4 1/2" grinder with a thin cut-off wheel.

If you have a plasma cutter or know some that does you can be done with all 4 corners in under 5 minutes.

I used an air saw and it worked great.
