i wouldn't do the swap until the 4.0L is dead. but once that happens, 4bt for sure.
my buddy does these swaps all the time. he knows everything there is to know about fitting the 4bt in a jeep using the jeep components.

his site is http://www.overlanddiesel.com/Home.html
his name is greg. i'm sure if you email or call him, he would answer any questions you might have.

Good torque and gas mileage if it's a daily driver/tow rig. Adding 300+lbs to the front end and a motor that won't rev to your wheelin rig

Revving the **** out of a motor isn't needed all the time.

As a matter of fact I have never met redline on my 87.

No, definitely not needed all the time, I putt around in the trails a lot. Just saying I wouldn't trade for an engine that doesn't have the ability when needed. But depends on what it's used for. Some people don't even know if they're Cherokee has a rev limiter, nor do they need it, mine sees it several times a week. I might be a little abusive though..

Haha. It will probably happen someday. We've been running 4.0s this way for a long time though and they seem to love it. That will just give me an excuse to swap in the 5.0.
