Default 4 cyl or 6?

Alright so ive been on here for a few weeks and I am looking at xjs all over. i want to get a 4 cylinder 2 door because im a student and i wanted to get somewhat decent mileage. my plans are a 3 inch lift with 31s(for now lol) eventually ill be movving up to a 4.5 with 33s. in your opinions is it for the extra mileage with the 4 banger worth it or should i just get the 4.0?

get the 4.0 much more power. no point in upgrading a vehicle if you just want mileage.

Exactly what he said, you will want the power anyway so just get it now. They are more common anyway, good luck

ya thats true... do you think a lift on a 4 banger would effect the mileage more than a 4.0? im leaning a little more to the 4.0. im a racer at heart and i got a heavy right foot and all ive heard is that the 4 banger has no ***** at all

if you dont get on the 4.0 you can get 20mpg on highway and 15+ local... i usually average 17/18 mpg and i have a semi heavy foot cuz i am use to my other ride...

never drove the 4cyl XJ but if its anything like my friends 1987 4cyl 4Runner Good Luck merging onto highways....
