33's, to regear or not to regear?
that is the question!
I plan on getting 33's before summer, but I am wondering if it's even worth it to re-gear? I heard gas mileage with 4.10's being quoted at 15mpg, which isn't much better than what I heard with stock gears...
So what to do? I want 33's, but are gears worth it? If so, 4.10's or 4.56's? In terms of gas mileage?
Confused, just need a quick answer!

i'm still running stock 3.55 gears with 36 inch tires. sure it's a little slower for acceleration, but i'm not out to race anyone. i can still cruise on the highway.
it still gets better gas mileage than my 5spd tj on 33's.
when i build my full size axles, i will go to 4.88 or 5.13 then.

i too am on the 3.55. But sometime this year I want 4.56.
regear is not "needed" but will benefit.
imo its not worth the hassel and cost to regear to 4.10

im on 33's and 4.56's with a 5 speed. i get between 12 and 10 mpg. i think for me with a 5 speed 4.10's would be ideal but the shop screwed me over.

there's like 1mm threads like these.. but don't do 4:10s. I ran them on 34s, and my mpgs were about 10-12. 4:56, or 4:88 if you have a buch of armor.
