Question 31's on stock rims?

Its coming around time to get new tires and i wanted something better than stock. I am getting a 3 inch lift so i was woundering if 31 inchi tires would fit on the alloy wheels of a 2001 cherokee.

yes. but a 15x8 rim would be better. but most people run 31's on the stock 15x7 rim

Yeah as long as they are 10.50 wide or narrower it will work great.

You may want to invest in some 1" wheel spacers though. I know a few guys running 31x10.50's on stock rims and they rub at full lock. The stock 15x7 rims just don't have the backspacing I guess.

Agrees, when I have my 31x10.5 on my stock rims, I rubbed like crazy on my LCA at full turn. But I just got better backspacing in new rims, ended up being cheaper then buying spacers.

I'm glad this got posted, I find out today if I'm getting the xj I want. I want to put 31s on it, but I love the wheels that are on it, it has the aluminum 10 slots

I've been running 31x10.5 tires on my stock rims for a little while now with no real issues. They rub a little bit at FULL lock, but only when it's really hitting the steering stop. A minor adjustment to the stop would probably fix it. Day to day driving though, they don't rub or do anything weird, I love the setup. They tuck right up into your fenderwells when you are getting kinda flexed out offroad too.
