Guys . I love my XJ I mean who doesn't ? But with it being 2wd I kind of want to get a new rig . Or is 2wd sufficient ? Opinions ?

take it offroad and find out what it's limits are for yourself. I've helped with a 4x4 conversion. it's not fun but you can do it in a weekend. I'm lazy I'd find a new rig that's already four wheel drive

Ive only come across one 2wd cherokee and i almost bought it! It was a mail jeep 98 cherokee with a funky right hand drive conversion but everything was still there on the left side. lol But when i noticed 2wd i passed on it..
Chances are you will come across wayyy more 4wd xjs than 2wd so i would say sell yours and buy a 4wd. Unless you really like the jeep you have now and are up for the task of converting it. I cant imagine its THAT hard of a swap but ive never done one so...

2wd
I love my 98 2WD. It is very "nimble" around the back roads here in Va.
I will keep my 2WD, and buy a 4x4 XJ this summer when the price is lower than winter. Even 2WD, my XJ is a little work horse........

I have a 2wd that I'm converting to 4wd. I bought it knowing that it never seen off road and was babied. For the price of one that's already 4wd I would have spent 1500-2000 more than I did for the 2wd. I don't mind a little work and the conversion cant be as hard as people make it seem. Added bonus is insurance will be cheaper on a 2wd VIN. I say go for it.
