2wd Jeepers
So who here has a 2wd jeep and wheels it? How good is it in the mud etc...? Anybody have any pictures of a lifted 2wd jeep? This is mine but its not lifted,i wish it was 4X4. I plan on doing a 3 inch lift with 31's.

are you planning on doing a 4wd swap? Unless you are racing in the dunes with 400 HP and paddle tires, I really don't see the point in wheeling a 2wd.

Its a possibilty,my girlfriends grandparents have a 4wd comanche just sitting in their yard that i might buy and do a swap. I was just wondering how a semi lifted 2wd XJ would do off road.

I agree, i dont see why jeep ever made a 2 wheel drive.. it goes against the reason jeeps are so popular and why they were ever made.. but in your defense im sure you feel like a bad *** when ever you get through things 4x4s struggle with..

just sell yous and get a 4wd. trust me thats BY FAR the easiest way to get what you want done! and 4wd xj is a million times better off road than a 2wd lifted xj

I built this ****er, 2wd prerunner style, I went through mudhole my buddies were gettin stuck in with their 4x4's. Not to menton I could put this sucker sideways on the pavement no prob. inline 6 w header straight exhaust and intake, herst short shifter, extended control arms, coil spacers and lift springs and add a leafs and blocks.

i would take a 2x4 jeep in a heart beat. nothing wrong with them. how much of the time you are off road do you actually need 4 wheel drive? really? i know here on the beach i don't need 4x4 at all but all the bog truck guys have to have it because their trucks weigh so much.
last time we went mudding i only put it in 4x4 to feel like i was cool. i actually didn't need it anywhere

I wouldn't screw with it too much
The 2wd Jeep cherokees are the original S.U.V. they sort of have a value all there own. The fuel economy is waay better. They don't have front differentials to mess with .No transfer case either .Great for high water on pavement (street flooding). I would think just raise it 2 inches at most and leave it a sharp looking street eater.

My 2 wheel drive has averaged over 20 MPH, handles great on the road. I have no intention of wheeling it but I am confident it will get me in and out of the logging roads I travel when doing trail maintenance in our local trail system.
