Default 2wd to 4wd Q

So im not new to Jeeps, i can do about anything but weld (not to sound cocky) but for budget reasons i thought id run this by yall. Ive got a 5 inch lift on my 2wd 01 XJ. I was woundering if i got a new trans, trans comp, t case and hp dana 30 front axle, how should i handle the rear drive train angles? I was thinking i could get away with a front drive shaft in the rear while running my current yoke (2wd trans yoke is even longer than a yj rear yoke). But would a longer yoke on the t case and a front drive shaft one the rear be enough combined with a t case drop to keep vibes down? I still dont know what year 231 to pick up and how front drive shaft angles will be.

Im just starting the conversion and would like yalls opinion before i bust out the cash. Im on a budget and i know some corners may have to be cut, but my rig wont be my dd for much longer so highway speeds are second though. Any input by yall would be nice. 2wd 5in lift just needed a custom drive shaft, so all the other stuff is not what im used to dealing with.

Can't use a front drive shaft unless you have an sye. I would buy an SYE while the new t case is out of the jeep, makes the most sense.

The cheapest way for you to go would be to buy a wrecked 97-99 4wd and getting all the parts you need from it, including the interior items needed for the swap. You will need an SYE and driveshaft's for it if the other XJ doesn't have an SYE.


I'm fairly sure you will also need a PCM for an 4wd "01" XJ, don't know about your wiring, dash lights (gauges 4wd lights) as I have never done this. Only a list of things I can of for sure and I'm sure that I am forgetting a lot or things possibly not needed
