2001 Jeep Cherokee Laredo metal in oil
So my friend has a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Laredo that started knocking 2 weeks ago until it got so loud he took it to a shop. The mechanic.said it had metal in the oil and needs a new engine. They told him they would put a rebuilt engine in it for $2750 + $60 for blinker fuse and it would need new shocks soon. He thinks its a good deal I say no way! It looks old and it has a bad interior leak so he has to constantly keep towels on the floors to sop up water because it rains all the time here.
Am I mistaken? Is it worth it? He thinks he will be able to sell it and make more $ than he is paying to fix it.
