Any body know anything about these? Ebay also has some 160 amp available. 5-90, your opinion is welcome.http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Alternator-JEEP-WRANGLER-200-HIGH-AMP-93-94-95-96-Generator-/350980350542?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item51b80f224e

You'll need a wiring upgrade for starters. You'll also need to grind down the mounting bracket to get it to fit (maybe the timing cover as well).

Wiring upgrade & fuse? Yes. 1AWG recommended.

However, whether or not grinding is needed will depend on the core used - the 70-117A frame size has been wound to generate 200A (or more...) and will fit directly. If they used the 136A+ frame, you'll need to grind about 1/4" of the metal away in the mounting area to clear the alternator frame (do not grind the alternator frame, you'll screw up the magnetic fields that make it work! If you can slip a sheet of paper between the alternator frame and engine block, you've removed enough material.)

So, apart from the fact that I know sod-all about the vendor (could be good, could be ****e, I don't know. There aren't many high-output vendors I'm willing to deal with...) there's no reason for it to not work.

And, as always, hit me backchannel if you need help sorting out wiring or whatever. I will tell you, tho, the OEM 6AWG isn't any good for more than 100A or so constant-duty, I'm mildly surprised they use it with 117/120A and 136/140A units (or larger... I've seen Ford Crown Vics with PD options using 6AWG for 220A Leece-Neville units - which is stupid. But, it's Ford. They're notoriously stingy on their wiring, I've dealt with it before.)

buy 5-90's 1awg wire upgrade. Install alternator. some minor grinding may be required. Good to go. I did a 136a from a Durango. You can also get a 136a or 160a alternator from a GC.

Just installed 5-90's wiring today. Great kit.

I did a 136-amp Dodge Durango alternator. Working like a charm!
