This is my first project and jeep I love the 2 dr I'm putting a 4" lift tomorrow with the Sahara 2015 wheels and tires its all I have to work with right now yes I have adapters I'm learning thanks to threads like these. Next is performance.

Can anyone inform me on my 96 2dr XJ or SE and or what really gots me is that it says "Hendricks edition"on fender under Cherokee logo. I haven't found any info on this Hendrick edition. What is Hendrick? Thanks.

 

Probably just a decal someone stuck on there. There's no such thing.

96, 2.5, 2wd, LS swap by the end of the year.

 

I don't know where you live or where your car came from, but I can absolutely guarantee that's a dealer "special edition" which means nothing more than they ordered similarly equipped XJs and put that sticker on them to make people feel special about buying them. It can vary from a cool factor of a Yenko Camaro to your XJ.

Just an SE. Basic as it gets.

I found the front wing windows that open on a junk yard XJ as well as the rear windows with wings that open on ebay.

First thing I have to do is get the rear suspension handled. There is rust right around the forward leaf mounts. Going to pretty much replace everything back there except the rear end. Bought the Synergy leaf sprig hangars and will have to do some cutting and welding. The only rust I have found. See what happens when the carpet comes up.

Then all new carpet and maybe seats. Hope to have the engine swap started by end of summer.

 

Almost done... Pulled it off the lift once and the back of jeep was higher so we noticed to block spacer whatever they were on rear suspension and hoping that will even it out.

The only 2-door specific advice I have for you is to be mindful of the condition of your hinges and take good care of them. Also watch for cracks around your door striker and the vent below the door striker.
